It's my birthday

So every year that my birthday rolls around, I try to tell everyone not to do anything for me, etc etc. I try to act like its not going to happen. No, its not my fear of turning older, I actually could care less, but more about me hating being on center stage. Well, our buddy Will Sansbury told us about an organization called Charity Water and we looked into it and I was sold. Here is a way to combine my birthday with something that is on my heart. Yes, I know, my birthday is actually August 31st, but hey, it’s for a good cause. Here is the “generic” e-mail they send out, which I thought was a great way to explain what they are trying to do…..

Hey Everybody

I’m using my birthday this year to support charity: water’s September campaign to bring clean and safe drinking water to the people of Ethiopia.

I recently learned that more than 1.1 billion people in the world today don’t have the most basic thing: clean water to drink. And 4,500 kids die each day from water-related disease. I’ve been supporting an organization called charity: water that has been working to make a real difference.

So I’ve decided to give up birthday gifts this year and ask people for donations instead to help people in need. 100% of the money raised will go directly to building freshwater wells, which will be proved with GPS coordinates and photos on Google Earth.

Please make a donation on my page:

Thank you!
